Here goes:

The no occupancy sign was illuminated as 15 vehicles were parked outside on jackstands.
(3) tow trucks were circling the area.
A team of natures stealth bombers were strafing green gumballs.
5 beetle songs were played, and if you listened carefully you could hear 1 swan song. I played Led Zeppelin's rock and roll twice, and in an unprecedented move danced with a stealth bomber (with a witness).

The weather:
Old man winter was all over the compass and vehicles were complaining.
Water quality on the Johnny Walker Scotch scale was:
Red Label and was flowing good.

Hope this helps

So your saying the wind was blowing off shore in the morning and switched onshore by noon. You hooked two T-sharks, one bird, and one porpoise; But in general, there was no wide open squid bite yesterday?

Correct.

Some of the players seen OTW were:

Saint Patrick, The Milkman, The Man with No Name, The Old Man,
The Sheriff of Noddingham. and more that have not been labeled yet.

A couple of switch hitters, or ambidextrous athletes (kayak fisherman/skiff owners.) without nicknames yet.

Great fish! Congrats.

On another note.....
Sometimes I just don't get it. Why call out someone for "harvesting" fish. I always tell people that catching a YT on a yak is special experience. It's flat out awesome! You'll never get that feeling from a PB boat.

I think it's the image of seeing 2 huge YTs on a deck of a small yak versus seeing 9 YTs on the deck of a PB. Just make sure you call out those PBers too..... not just the yak guys. Actually don't call out any one. Welcome to the forum, good luck out there.

Good point but the bottom line is that we should never take more than we can use. If someone can consume 100 lbs of fresh fish in a week or two than they should definitely keep that much fish if they can catch it.

On the other hand, if you harvest more than you can use and a bunch of it ends up in the freezer only to get tossed out when you catch your next big fish, that is wasteful. It makes no sense to me to kill a fish and then send it to the land fill.

To me, there are two great things about fishing... catching and eating. The catching part ends when you get the fish to the yak. If you need the meat, stick the gaff. If not, take a photo and release the fish.

It does not matter if you are one guy on a kayak or part of a large group on a PB, the rules should be the same. Take what you need... use what you take. It's as simple as that.

The problem is determinig how much someone else needs. i just ate some tuna last night from this past summer. Vacume sealed and in the freezer for quite some time now. I remember putting the fish in the freezer in the summer thinking I was taking too much. Now I'm thinking summer needs to get here so I can re-stock. Tuna that is. I have other stuff in the freezer.

I just have a hard time giving someone grief about their take when I don't know their situation. They were legal fish.

Harvesting vs Accuracy

All this back a forth about harvesting shows how touchy a subject this is and I for one will not bring it up again as I do believe this forum is a great place to share experiences and information not express opinions. My main intent was to challenge Mr. Miller to come back with a reply to fess up or clarify his claims of the Trifecta.

I can validate his Fish Porn from last week but I don't think it is fair to sound a three gun salaute for all you guys that have to drive miles to get to LJ.

Nobody should judge how much fish one can consume in a certain amount of time. Fish doesn't last long in my freezer. I would have no problem keeping two 52bl Y.T. caught in the same day and only post one. that would be enough fish for 6 months. If you use a food saver the fish wiil stay almost fresh for a year.

I would love to practice catch and release. My promlem is the same as 95% of kayak fishing guys out there. I spend HUNDREDS of hours on the water and maybe catch one or two Y.T. a year if im lucky. last year I caught two 30lb Y.T. on the squid run which lasted for about 3 days.

If i would of caught 5 Y.T. during the squid run I would of kept them all - because that would have been itttt- for the whole year. The squid run only comes once a year and last for maybe three day. If your lucky enough to fish in that small window, good for you! and if your like me, (no fish catching fool) I hope you catch your limit!! ok, maybe 5 would suffice.

Thanks for the insite and concern for people taking more fish than you wish,Bob, I've never released a yellowtail in my life! I only stop fishing for them when I get limits or my arms fall off! I may practice catch and release on yellows someday but not "today".
