Late January Thresher - La Jolla

Three bros shared the fun of bringing in an ~80lb Thresher shark on Saturday, Jan 28th.

Caught by: big bro (Bigmozi) - AGAIN!!?!
Pulled in by: me & mid bro (AryMoz)
Filmed by: me & mid bro
Edited by: big bro

How & where: Carolina rigged live sardine with 2oz weight in ~90ft water. Fish was caught around 9:00am and took about 1 hour to land. Headed back in right after and we didn't tie the fish onto my bro's yak, thinking Bigmozi wouldn't flip since he hadn't done that for over 2 years. Naaah, Of course he flips and fish falls from his yak into the surf. Luckily he gets back up and the first thing he grabs is the fish... Quite funny, we think.
I don't blame him, fighting that thing for 1 hour and paddling it back could be a bitch... Good times with good people, all caught on tape:

Cheers to LJ & the people who fish it on kayaks

misconception - hate to be a buzz-kill, but the fish wasn't released -

I now see why you guys thought it was released - the underwater shot at the end makes it seem like we released it...

Cheers

Congrats on an incredible fish.

Just make sure you release all the YT and WSB........oh and Halibut too. I don't know why anyone would keep these fish?

Who needs MLPA to screw with us when we do such as a good job of it ourselves.

Good weather,good fishin.

I'll play GOOD cop to the bad cop.remember this T when you hook the next one and consider that Apex preditor numbers are more easily affected by removing just a few from the populace also living on T steaks will give you severe ED from all the mercury...:
