Thanks SoCalEDC, I was only able to land the scrappy one. The bigger bruzers put me in the structure. During the spawn, I will target them with 100lb braid, and still lose some.

Thanks Quang, The variety is notable.... made it easy to win at Kayak Wars back when that was an online tournament.

Thanks, Grass frequently looks greener elsewhere, but Florida is tough to beat when it comes to fishing diversity.

Haha, I can’t imagine a 60+ pound YT from the yak and that’s about what I would expect an AJ of similar size to fight like.

That's about right. Like YT, AJ's look for a structure to break the line off. As hard as they fight, The AJ's cannot equalize like a Tuna can, so once pulled about 100ft up from where ever they were, they start to get the bends, and about 90ft down the fishfinder frequently lights up with air if it's a jack. They will still fight the rest of the way, but it is impeded by air imbalance. Meanwhile, a tuna will fight hard all the way to the end.

That would be interesting to find your Floridian relatives. The overall diversity of California is tough to beat. However, if you don't mind a hot humid climate and love fishing, Florida is the place to be. If you are retired on a fixed income, everything costs less here than in California.
