I did it!
finally dumped my X factor on the way in. not just a tip over and i'm in the wash, i mean like 8ft of water and a good 6-7ft wave...
 somehow my yak was right side up when i got to the surface after ducking the next wave. missing a green dive bag (kind you use to put lobster in) and my buddies iPhone in a life case. happened around 9pm. sneaky swells.
