halibut in la jolla

Im not askin for ur spots in la jolla but rather what should I be looking for to catch the flatty? What depth do they hangout in? What kind of bycatch should I be pulling in to know im in the right location? Ive seen on here to look for hard or sandy bottom but im not exactly sure what that looks like on my ff. I know theres halibut in the bay but I really prefer la jolla, its just more peaceful in my opinon and better view. Thanks for any help, see u out there
