Heading to Catalina this weekend - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

Well me and the family are heading over to Catalina Island on Sunday for an over night stay. I'm debaiting bringing some small gear to mess around with from shore. From what I can find you can fish in the bay but there are a couple of marine conservation areas of both sides just out of the bay.

Rent a kayak from descano beach and fish the kelp along shore. Lots of calicos mixed up in there.

Good fishing all around the island on lite tackle. Can also rent a kayak and paddle around the closure area for kelp fish. Can always fish off the pier where the boat docks as well...
