Kayak Fishing Dana Point For Rhe Inshore Slam!
It?s been a while but I finally got an inshore slam(Calico, Sand, Spottie, and Halibut) and it happened on Friday 8/22 on my 62nd birthday 😃 The bite at Doheny beach was a little slower than it has been but I managed a few leopard sharks, shovel nose shark, & I guess a dog fish? I got tired of dealing with the shark and headed back to the long jetty. The bite turned on just before noon when the water started to move and it was game on. https://youtu.be/bdNYig4I12M?si=fjWh0HCbdcUQKH2s |

Belated Happy birthday Glen!
I would suspect there are game fish lurking around the bait receiver. Do you ever try fishing in that area? - especially at night on a high tide. I would be tempted to trolling that lure on your way out of the harbor. Looks like you had a lot of action and variety! Even a double hookup! You have put in a good amount of time... preview for legal keepers! Good hydrotherapy. ![]() |
