Nice job getting out there dodo, you couldn't ask for a nicer day, did you see that fog bank roll in? It was pretty cool to see how fast things can get blanketed out.

Looks like threshers may be on the no take list next year, there has been some serious discussion on closing the recreational fishery. Threshers are actually caught here all year long. Every year in september NOAA fisheries runs their socal thresher shark survey... because... there is Very little known about the thresher shark population status.

In recent years threshers have come under a lot of pressure. They are easy to catch and are very beautiful animals. With continued research maybe one day we will know more about them...



The eye was removed to sample the ocular muscles and fatty tissue surrounding the brain.
