It's like basket weaving but with cord and you wrap around your blank.
There's a tutorial buried in the BD rod building forum from the master himself, Steve "Rooster" Paterson of Rooster Custom Rods. I was fortunate enough to learn from him live in person. Hard to type it out and explain step by step (I'm not the best at it) so here's a couple more pics I took during the build. Once you figure it out it's fairly simple, just tedious. ![]() ![]() Quote:

if your gaff is sealed on both ends it should float fine being bamboo, otherwise you could fill it with insulation foam that comes in a can. that way no water gets in it and it stays buoyant.

You should edit the title to, "Made me a bad-ass gaff". Just curious, what was the overall cost?
