As for their flush mounts I hope they are not happy with them! We lost 3 fishing rods during the years Shiloh was fishing off the Hobie. Very shallow. 1 time was my fault, bumped into her hitting the rod out of the rod holder. 2nd one was taken out by a fish on a partially rough day, the last we have no idea what happened, it was just gone.

Never had a problem on any of the other yaks. The Hobie ones are definitly shallow. Great idea installing new ones

Maybe a leash would have helped.

I have a Revo and have always found the rod holders on this kayak to be just about useless for holding a rod. To solve the problem I designed a trolling rig out of ABS that fits into these holes This rig works pretty well. My biggest problem with the hobie molded in rod holders is where they are positioned. If they are going to mold in rod holders, they should place them up front where you can see the rods.
