I love my Hodgmans, I have owned two pairs. (neoprene; for salmon fishing and the guidlites; for kayaking) They held up very well.
The only brand I would avoid is Caddis. My pair of caddis waders leak pretty bad despite the numerous patches I have done. And their customer service... more like what customer service???

Own two pairs, they both leak just a liiiiitle bit in the feet. Usually when I kayak I don't get any water into the feet. When I spend a significant amount of time with feet underwater I get a little moisure. Wash them regularly to avoid the SUPERSTINK!

Any time I've had leaky waders, its usually due to pin pricks from a sabiki.
![]() I did have one pair that had a seam split too. I've had good success repairing both rips and holes by just dabbing a little Goop on the area, on the inside of the waders. The hard part is finding the leaky spot. If you know the general area where it is leaking, pour some rubbing alcohol on the outside, and look at the inside. It will be wet on the pinhole. Wait for that to dry, put a little Goop on it, wait a couple hours, Done. Much easier than rubber cement with a patch. As for the stinky feet- Lysol disinfectant in a spray can works for me. Also letting them bake in the sun inside out for a couple hours helps too. |
