Hey Jeff, Great day out there!!!
Just a hint on the losing of jigs on the fly.... Braid is very brittle.... it doesn't take much to snap when a heavy jig puts force on it at 60mph and the line slows, backlashes or snags on the fly.... Hint, when throwing iron with spectra, tighten up that spool control just a tad. Braid backlashes and releases very abruptly... causing the braid to snap because there is no stretch. Either that or run a topshot which will solve a lot of problems. I NEVER throw iron with straight braid... Well, I have.... but soon stopped once I lost an iron... and then another... yep... and another! I was WTF??? Deckhand explained to me what I just explained to you. Haven't lost one on the fly since. |

Thanks for the tip. The first iron was attached to a 20' floro leader and third lost was to me reeling it in fast
