i love those DIY extensions!!! very nice going! and i see you have a bludger on the kayak too.. have you ever needed it? i usually head shank and gill any big fish to kill them + bleed them out

I have seen a coralation between light line and big halis. I don't always use the light stuff but most of my bigger fish have been on the 10lb. I'm not a meat fisherman and enjoy a challenge but when you're using a little bay bass rod, set the hook and feel heavy dead weight and then big old slow head shakes there is kinda a "Oh Shit, did I bring a knife to a gun fight?" moment. I believe this rig has 40lb PowerPro and as far as sinkers go I always use 8oz torpedos. This fish was caught in waters that were between 55 and 65 feet. Quote:
