Yakfest I
Pretty good response fellow yakers.My first thought was Fiesta Island across from Sea World because of easy parking, easy launch.However there is no grass.Shelter Island sounds good too.What's your thoughts?

Besides fishing i love to bbq! Working on getting into professional bbq competitions (i have done 2 so far) starting in about 2 weeks im buying steel to start building my rig. 7 foot smoke chainber with 4 foot firebox thats going to be trailer mounted. Cant wait. Maby by fall i could do a bbq for a bunch of yakerz. Would post pics but dont know how to on here.

Yakfest update
O.K. yakers the Yakfest is going to be @ Shelter Island the 1st Saturday in August Which is 8-4-12.
I'll have the big white step van that looks like a plumbers truck. I'll have a 10x10 canopy,2 tables,microwave and hopefully a generator. SDfishman can use some charcoal/wood for that nice BBQ. Bring what you can, such as food,cups,napkins etc.This will be more of a social gathering than a tourney but I'am sure we can figure something out on that day if needed. I'll be there between 0600-0700 hrs. neer the launch ramp.Hope you can make it. Thanks,Finyak |

Sept 8th? USC Football opening weekend. I'll be tail-gating with about 100K of my closest friends. Yakfest is a great idea, tho. Plan some more and I'm there!

Ha!! I did it.Well we can only go by what people say on this thread.At last count I think it was about 16+ friends and family.I think it's going to be kinda hard to get an accurate count but I don't mind bringing a large portion of the meat if we can just have other people bring the sides.
