"The proposed regulations which had previously been posted online are now updated (as of 9/26/2012) with these regulations which will be in effect through June 30, 2013. "

Exactly my point. Lots of hearsay. I'm all for the new changes, if and.or when they go in affect.

Someone has posted about it just being decided at the DFG meeting earlier this week. Maybe first of the year implemented?

They are not published yet and have no timetable either. But the DFG Commission did vote on the new regulations which are expected to be implemented Jan 1 2013.

Here is a link to the discussion on BD which is heated, but has a good bit of info.

Thanks for the link Greg, that was a great read! With all the bureaucracy involved I think it may take a few months to get on the books. I think its for the better though, but I dont keep bass so what do I know?
The hardest part now is waiting to see if Jorge messes up putting a new sticker on his paddle!

I don't have an issue with these regulations, but I see why some may be pissed about it... Especially on BD. I think most of us are good honest people, who aren't taking home more than we need or eat.

Fishing isn't a crime, and it seems that as time goes on that's how it's going to be viewed by politicians. Such a bummer.

Funny how some guys are not the least bit interested in whether it promotes a healthier fishery, without effecting when, where and how many you can "catch" I don't think they need to do a $1,000,000 study on this one. It will make for a healthier bass stock.

Andy that was exactly the point I was making with a friend of mine from one of the party boat locations. She was swearing up and down that I didn't know what I was talking about. The logic is that if you increase the size limit and reduce the keep limit you will help the species to reproduce, and recover from the years of over keeping. Like others have said we here on this board seem to be more of the CPR and keep what we are going to use mind set, but other sites see their bag limits going down.

I have also heard that there is discussions on putting different limits on Tuna and Dorado, has anyone heard anything about that?
