I was watching you out there. I working on the hotel on the corner. I told my buddy that you were a lone wolf today. Congrats on the catch. The weather was actually pretty nice for you as well.

Best time to be out there is when you get to choose where you want to drop your hook. WTG.

Thanks for the kind words.

So when i got the fish back to the gf's place I weighed it using the old bathroom scale thing. The difference between me holding the fish and not holding the fish was just a bit under 30lbs. Not sure how accurate that is but its exciting still to know it was close to 30lbs.
Definitely the biggest fish I've ever caught. Massively exciting to to have the chance to be pulled around by that fish. I'm so new to kayak fishing my first thought was that I was stuck on kelp. I quickly figured out that kelp doesn't shake or take line and my next thought was, "God I hope its not a shark or a BSB".

If I wasn't hooked on kayak fishing before, I definitely am now. What a rush!!!!!

I was out yesterday, too...

I didn't see another boat or kayak on the water. Then again, there was rain squalls in the distance with disgusting South wind. Who in the hell would go out in that crap? I mean, lets be honest, that was one of the ugliest days in months.

That said, I was under water most of the time---so for all I know there could have been a fleet of boats in 120'. Maybe you were there after all...

Congrats on your first!
