I'm from riverside and I started the same way you did. I fished Perris lake quite a few times until I started going to silver wood and I don't really go to Perris anymore only like a 10 minute driving difference depending on how you drive. Silver wood is a great place to learn to fish and yak, wind picks up around noon and you can use it to practice paddling against a strong headwind for when you go to the ocean. Good luck and be safe!

I too am new to the kayak fishing.. I have a PA14 and was lucky enough to go out with flyfisher md to tidelands for my first adventure.. it was awesome.. it was nice because the spotties wanted to play so it definately got me wanting to take the yak out again.. fished perris this past week for a couple of lmb.. nothing special.. looking forward to taking it to silverwood to do some striper fishing..
I too am in the IE.. let me know if you ever wanna go out.. Im still a newbie but im always up for a good trip. |
