The sword from a kayak???
![]() The fuel for the spotter plane alone will probably run you the same price as a fleet of hobies... Let alone keeping a skipjack or a bonito alive in a stealths livewell, see where im going with this???? |

Believe it or not, swordfish are right in LJ canyon....need to rig squid with 10/0-12/0 hook, heavy rod and reel, underwater lights, a 12lb.brick and at least 2000yds. of line. And fish them at night and if hooked up be prepared for another eight hours of fight. A sword from a kayak(unassited),possible but highly unlikely.

Seriously, Jim Sammons is your guy. I don't know about swordfish but he catches Marlin all the time, usually down south a bit. There are come great videos out there showing the action.
If I remember correctly, I think he told me that he even caught a marlin off Scripps pear once upon a time. Bob |

BWE report of the decade!!!
I can see it all now!
Frank ties a 12lb brick to his line and 10/0 hook.he hooks up the sword fish at la jolla canyon... The swordfish is now towin him at an amazing speed 3mph after a 7 hour battle he finally is able to subdue the beast... After use of marine glue to repair the hull he begins his 6 hour paddle back to la jolla shores which calculating the speed of the x factor plus the additional wait, it actually takes him the whole night into the morning. Where George is awaiting him with the most beatiful amazing females la jolla has. Wow I can see it now... Fox 11 news... Frank aka the nacho man catches a swordfish off his kayak.... Epic indeed
