Second Rod Validation - Fish Lic.
I am sure this is a stupid question but the "Second Rod Validation" only applies to inland waters such as lakes? So, legally you cant fish two poles at the same time in the ocean?

You can fish as many as you like as long as you are not fishing for a few species like Salmon.

I just found it on the DFG website... Q. How many fishing rods and hooks can I use when sport fishing in the ocean? A. Any number of hooks and fishing lines may be used in all ocean waters and bays with the following exceptions:
