Hi Dave -

Yes pedals would get in the way bigtime. So I've never used the pedals
when hooping - need the deck space. Fins down would probably be
inviting disaster in the darkness with the current, floating kelp, commercial
buoys/ropes, my ropes, etc.

I choose the Old School paddle with a paddle leash when hooping, and the
Hobie Plug in the mirage drive hole. Less to carry and I usually don't go
far anyway.

This year though I plan on running deeper combo-trips out to 35-45'
deep to catch sheephead while waiting on the bugs. I've never put a net
down past 15' yet ...


Paddling is fun.
