Yes im afraid its true, there are sharks even GWS'S in our local waters...

C'mon Gregg lets dust them off for old time sakes. Im tired of getting skunked all the time in LJ. Maybe well get lucky and find that guys $$$ Riffe or better yet a WSB. Those guys have been pulling some monsters out of the kelp.

Damn! Even when seals sneak up on me I jump.
When I am out there I just tell myself they dont exist. They are like UFO's...alot of talk but no one ever has a good clear picture of one.

They are real and some have had a clear pic of them,up close. Some live to tell about it others not. Keep your knife strapped to your leg and be ready.

Its Spring time, they are feeding on the Seal Pups around the Children's Pool, and WSB.
Be careful around the inside passage, and in the Kelp.

Ray is a very regular customer of ours at OEX and does all my outboard motor repair. His story is definitely true. This sint Rays 1st encounter either. He had a Much larger WSB stolen a few years back.

Speaking to Freedivers on recent trips I have noticed that its a good part of the community that has had a GWS Encounter.

spent the last two days in La Jolla with only one other kayak in the water.....No GW spotted and no fish caught......glad I didn't check BWE before paddling out..maybe would of thought twice going out solo in the predawn hours......maybe not. At this point I have the catching bait, pelicans, and seals down
