Are these TShark good to eat? I've seen a lot been catch lately.

Excellent table fare...kept one last year that was about 80, it lasted us the whole summer, several bbq's with family, and many dinners, it was delicious... I wont keep any this year...just a personal thing.

IMHO, from what I've heard, the ones in the 70-100 lb class are the best to keep (male), while the bigger models (females), are of course the ones making all the babies. Makes sense to let the breeders swim away. I am no marine biologist though...

I have never caught a "T" but how do you tell a female from a male?

The males have elongated "claspers" extending from the base of their pelvic fins. Females do not.

My friends and I keep one T per year. For the group. Everyone gets all they need. Anymore is just wasteful. If the guy needs to catch more, he should take some pics of the shark and release it. Most of that third fish will either go to market illegally, or wasted. Either ending is not very noble for a beast that great.
