what knot were u runnin?

Improved clinch knot tied to a swivel. I had snagged a rock earlier in the day and really hauled on it to get it free, on that one the flourocarbon knot broke. (literally had the line around my hand and leaned into it)
So the knot was strong at some point, but it must have weakened when I broke off that snag. The next time I 'tested' it was with a fish on. Not good. |

Now I feel bummed out too.
![]() Improved Clinch is not a good Spectra Knot. ----------------------- You definitely did have a shot at a trophy, and legit too. Once you touch that leader the fish is caught - regardless if you boat him or not. Consider it a photo-less release.

damnit... next time Tom. Maybe the uni knot (spectra to swivel) with a half hitch or two would work well.

Nothings burns like a failed knot. A beautiful day like that is worth 50 wsb well maybe 5.....ok like half of one
