This maybe a dumb question, but how can you implement a closure when there is a legal challenge in court that has not been ruled upon?

Can this issue be put on a ballot for other Californians to vote on.

I don't think its fair, that a small group of people can make a decisions

that affect so many others...

Welcome to the real world of big money politics where the Golden Rule prevails, (the one with the most gold makes the rules).

Even in the unlikely event that an issue like this was to be put on the ballot, I am not sure the results would go our way. The opposition has lots of money to spend on marketing their point of view and the general public that is very ignorant when it comes to this subject. Most would not take the time to learn the real facts.

I like the idea of carrying around a copy of the constitution. That would be an interesting defense should someone get popped for fishing in one of the MLPA closed zones.

Bob

Its almost why even buy a kayak or fishing gear anymore. Sound like a waste of money now as we cant fish in the easy to reach areas.. How far out into the ocean does the closer goes??? If it become too much of a headache to go fishing then you go fishing less often..
Maybe we could just go and watch the fish..

In that case, the small group will be the judges to over rule our vote.

Does legal Medical pot or Gay marriage ban both being overruled by the judges sound familiar?

The same will happen if we vote this crap law out.
I'm with the others...

I'll fish where I've always fished. The DFG won't have the manpower to keep this enforced for long, even if they make a show enforcement in the beginning.

I hate to be that guy, but this country is going to hell quick style. Alas, our once great state is leading the charge.

Someone brought up long ago a meeting of like hearted individuals,a show of force and dissident if you will, being exercised on the exact day of Implimentation.
I for one will sacrifice my time,5 year old beat up kayak and a fine to make a stand against this bullshit.lets meet up in a no fish zone.I am thinking Laguna.
We need to organize,Inform the media and do this.Make the point that we obey size and number limits whatever they may be.This whole thing is based on bad Science.

Tommy Gomes had an interesting idea a while ago.

-If the MLPA is ever implemented and our areas are closed to fishing -

He suggested that we All go out on out boats and kayaks with our fishing rods and tie on 4 oz. sinkers and soak them in the closed areas.
-Nothing more than a 4 oz. sinker at the end of your line.

Its not illegal to do this and it would tie DFG manpower in knots.
-I'm not fishing - I'm just stretching my line.
Those guys would get bounced around like pinballs from boat to boat eating up Time and Money.
-------------------
There is your civil protest to fuk with them. lmao

hell yes...I like the sinker Idea.Dont even hit the water with a hook.

the Company I used to work for is actually installing new cabinets and millwork in the Laguna beach city hall right now. They asked me to help with the Dais(which is the city councils big convex desk for official meetings)If this pans out and I go work there I need an anti MLPA shirt to wear.Something extremely offensive to them If you know what I mean...
