Solid cobia! With that heavy setup I suspect you were targeting sharks?. Cobia can be found close to shore and far offshore. I have stalked those fish from Alabama shoreline on into Fla. Mostly sight fishing and casting freshwater eels from a 40' tower.(now thats a challenge). They kinda fight like Yt but once boatside a heavy duty gaff is essential!! Great fish from shore and happy eating

... Really nice fish from shore you have there. The FL coastline is great for fishing in general -to be sure.
HOWEVER.... get on your yak and head for the rigs, bridge piling, etc... There are some real leviathans that you can catch on that polyethylene boat you have there. Have a great time from ship to shore, and keep the reports coming. |
