My brother was on a boat over the weekend that hooked into something really big while targeting Threshers. They fought it for four and a half hours before it broke off 100# test line. They never saw the fish. The guy on the rod was a pro so I am sure he did everything possible to bring this fish to the boat.

I wonder how big a fish this one might have been? Can you imagine hooking into something like that on a kayak?

Yeah, it really is a shame that all of these people are killing the big breaders. I understand if you want to keep one for food, but a 300lb. shark could feed you for the rest of the year. Keeping three is disgusting. All of the 40 to 100lb. pupps that we catch on the kayaks are thanks to breeders like this big shark. I strongly encourage everyone to educate people on how not to wipe out our fishery.

Yea kinda sad but you don't know exactly how it died? But figureing it was his third this season probably aimed at boating it no matter how it was hooked. You see the same thing in Cabo with all size marlin being hung all day long...

Im no tree hugger but in the case of T-sharks sometimes fishermen are their own worse enemies. How many steaks or freezers full do you need? DFG considered regulating T-shark fishing last year and MLPA is on the menu now.

You cant regulate common sence.
